Brendan Cobb finished his two year junior career wearing #80 as the starting goalie for the Mavericks in their playoffs run.
Cobb came to the Mavs in October 2022 from the Wooster Oilers for “the opportunity to get the real junior hockey experience, to be on a competitive team, and to get better exposure for college.”
The 6’1” goalie from Ypsilanti, Michigan started his first game at the Metro Jets on November 5, 2022 and earned Great Lakes Division Player of the Week honors for his work in securing a 6-1 win over the Buffalo Stampede a week later. Across 22 games, he tallied 1328 minutes in net, 756 saves, a GAA of 2.44, and a save percentage of 0.929.
Following junior hockey, Cobb plans to attend college, study communications, and play college hockey.
“I just wanna thank everyone for an amazing year of hockey and memories that I’ll take with me and remember forever,” Cobb said. “[I’m going to miss] competing with the boys everyday, getting chirped and chirping each other, and…hanging out with the boys all the time.”
