MISC
After signing with the team in June 2022, Kyle Hauer finishes his junior hockey career as a leading defenseman for the Mavericks.
Hauer played all three of his years of junior hockey in the USPHL, spending his rookie season with the Pittsburgh Vengeance and then the Detroit Fighting Irish during the 2020-21 season before returning to the Fighting Irish for the 2021-22 season.
As a Maverick, Hauer was a leader in the amount of games played - totaling 42 of the 44 games in the season. His first goal for the team was on November 11, contributing to a 7-4 win over the Buffalo Stampede, and he went on to tally 3 goals and 7 assists throughout the season. Hauer also reached his 100th career USPHL game on February 24th, in a game that went into overtime against the Toledo Cherokee.
In the fall, Hauer plans to attend Rochester University, where he will continue to play hockey and major in sports management.
“[My favorite part of being a Maverick is] being a part of such a great family [in which] everyone is loving and caring about each other,” Hauer said. “I feel very honored and grateful to be part of such a great organization.”
